Privacy Policy for BoltScanner

Ahmet Faruk Sucu (“we,” “us,” or “our”) built the BoltScanner app as a Free application. This SERVICE is provided by us at no cost and is intended for use as is.

1. Data Collection and Use

We do not collect, store, or share any personal data. BoltScanner operates entirely on your device. All document scanning, text recognition (OCR), translation, PDF processing (merge, split, compress, lock, watermark, convert), AI categorization and summarization are performed locally using on-device Machine Learning models and open-source libraries.

2. Camera and Storage Permissions

To function properly, the app requires:

• Camera Permission: To scan documents and QR codes.
• Storage/Photo Library Permission: To save generated PDFs/images and to import files for scanning or conversion.

These files remain strictly on your device and are never uploaded to any external server by our application.

3. Third-Party Services

• Google ML Kit is used for on-device OCR, document scanning, barcode/QR scanning, object detection and translation. No user data is sent to Google servers.
• ML Kit Translation downloads small language model files from Google when a new language is used for the first time. Only the model files are downloaded; no text, document or personal data is transmitted.
• Apache PDFBox / PdfBox-Android, Apache POI are open-source libraries used locally for PDF and Office file handling.

4. GDPR and KVKK Compliance

Since no personal data is collected, processed, or transferred, BoltScanner inherently complies with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Kişisel Verilerin Korunması Kanunu (KVKK).

5. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
